Diabetic eye exams

Diabetic eye exams are an integral part of helping you manage your diabetes.
The earlier we detect retinal damage, the sooner we can intervene.
Diabetic exams involve mosaic photography and dilation of the eye.
We will examine the back of the eye for any bleeding or scarring related to
erratic blood sugar and blood pressure.
Dr. Park will make your eyes as comfortable as possible for this exam. Let her know your inhibitions!
(Dilation will result in blurry vision, which will resolve in a few hours.
Please plan accordingly.)

Your endocrinologist, neurologist, and/or PCP will use the information
from your diabetic report to help manage your care.
Medical insurance will usually cover this service.
